US president, Donald Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, stated that a new legal team had been appointed to defend Trump's role in asking Ukrainian President Zelensky to investigate former Vice President. The situation placed Rudy Giuliani at the centre of an attempt by the Democrat-led House of Representatives to impeach the American President. Giuliani also defended his role in representing Trump in the Ukraine corruption scandal.

'Allegations against Trump are false'

In relation to one of the impeachment investigations, Giuliani stated that the evidence against the President was false just as the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential elections and will prove that Trump is not guilty. He further added that the probe he conducted in relation to the Ukraine corruption scandal was done with an aim to defend his client.

According to reports, the Democrats had accused Donald Trump of withholding $400 million in military aid to Ukraine in order to exert pressure on the Ukrainian President to investigate Joe Biden. Joe Briden allegedly had a role in stopping an investigation of a Ukraine based energy company that had employed the former US Vice President's son, Hunter.
