Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended a formal invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a separate bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming BRICS summit, scheduled to take place in Kazan later this month.

During a conversation with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Putin expressed his desire to meet PM Modi on October 22, emphasizing the warm relations between the two leaders.

"I propose holding a 2nd meet on Oct 22. Please, send Mr. Modi our warm regards and best wishes—he is a great friend of ours," said President Putin during the talks with NSA Doval.
