The Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML), backed by the notorious 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, is set to participate in the upcoming elections in Pakistan. The spotlight, however, is on Hafiz Saeed's son, Talha Saeed, who is slated to contest from a constituency in Lahore.

Talha Saeed, a key leader of LeT, is the son of Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The Pakistan Media reports that Talha Saeed's political foray is aligned with the PMML, a party known for its association with Hafiz Saeed and his controversial ideologies. 

Official Designation as a Terrorist 

Adding fuel to the controversy, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has declared Hafiz Talha Saeed a designated terrorist under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. In a notification dated April 8, the MHA highlighted Talha Saeed's role as a senior leader of LeT and his position as the head of the cleric wing of the terror outfit. 

Accusations and Allegations 

The notification further reveals that Talha Saeed has been actively involved in recruitment, fund collection, planning, and executing attacks by LeT in India and against Indian interests in Afghanistan. These serious allegations raise questions about the suitability of a person with such a background entering active politics.
