Washington: After facing flak from social media users,  Tech billionaire Elon Musk has deleted his controversial post which stated "no attempts to kill US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris”.

Musk who is currently the Executive Chairman of X (formerly Twitter) in a post made a statement regarded his deleted post saying, “Well, one lesson I have learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh, it doesn't mean it's going to be all that hilarious as a post on X.”

The deleted post had gotten nearly 40 million impressions.

Shots Fired Near Trump's Golf Course In Florida

After gunfire was reported near his golf club in West Palm Beach earlier in the day, former President Donald Trump 's campaign confirmed he was 'safe.' However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Sunday that it is looking into what seems to be an attempted assassination. This follows a similar incident two months earlier, when Trump was targeted during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, raising concerns about the US Secret Service’s effectiveness.

Meanwhile, President Biden praised the Secret Service for their 'vigilance' and for ensuring the former president's 'safety.' He also noted that one suspect is currently in custody and that an active investigation is ongoing.

"I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is investigating as a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today. A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe," Biden said in a statement.
