India to get 2 new Amrit Bharat, 6 Vande Bharat special trains today | Check Routes

PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off two 'Amrit Bharat Express' trains and six ‘Vande Bharat’ trains during his visit to Ayodhya on December 30.

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to flag off two 'Amrit Bharat Express' trains and six ‘Vande Bharat’ trains during his visit to Ayodhya on December 30.      

Amrit Bharat Express, the common man’s Vande Bharat train, will feature non-AC Sleeper Cum Unreserved Class service that is designed to cost less and serve longer distances. The train has been planned to provide night express services that will connect Indian cities at distances of more than 800 km or take more than ten hours to travel.

The train comes equipped with locos at both ends for better acceleration and provides improved facilities for rail passengers like beautiful and attractive designed seats, better luggage rack, mobile charging point with suitable mobile holder, LED lights, CCTV, public information system, among others. 

Amrit Bharat Express & Vande Bharat Train: Check routes

Two Amrit Bharat Express Trains: 

  1. Delhi to Darbhanga (Bihar) via Ayodhya
  2. Malda to Bengaluru 

Six Vande Bharat Trains: 

  1. Katra-New Delhi
  2. Amritsar-Delhi
  3. Coimbatore-Bangalore Cantt
  4. Mangalore-Madgaon
  5. Jalna-Mumbai
  6. Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal 

Amrit Bharat Express trains timetable

According to Indian Railways, the Darbhanga-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express will run twice a week on Monday and Thursday. Meanwhile, the timetable for the Malda-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express hasn't been officialy announced. 

Amrit Bharat Express Train fares

  • Fares of the Amrit Bharat Express start at Rs 35 per seat for second sitting and Rs 46 per passenger for sleeper class for a distance of up to 5 km.
  • The maximum fare is Rs 933 for second sitting and Rs 1,469 for sleeper class for a distance of 4,951-5,000 km.
  • The Amrit Bharat Express trains are not equipped with air conditioners.

During today's Ayodhya visit, the Prime Minister will dedicate three  railway projects worth Rs 2300 crore to strengthen rail infrastructure in the region. It include the Rooma Chakeri-Chanderi third line project; Jaunpur-Tulsi Nagar, Akbarpur-Ayodhya, Sohawal-Patranga and Safdarganj-Rasauli sections of the Jaunpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki doubling project; and doubling and electrification project of the Malhaur-Daliganj railway section.
