After a massive row broke out over Akshay Kumar's 'Rustom naval costume auction', the actor and Twinkle Khanna have distanced themselves from the same. A spirited fight broke out between Army officers and Akshay-Twinkle after the couple put the costume on auction dubbing it as a “naval uniform”.

Now, the couple's counsel has responded to the legal notice, served to them by Army personnel and said that their client is not conducting any auction nor is any alleged auction being conducted on behalf of their client or by their client's wife. The counsel also said that their client states that the uniform costume worn by their client is neither owned by their client nor by his wife nor is it bestowed upon or handed over or conferred upon their client in any manner whatsoever.

Here is the statement by Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's counsel :

Meanwhile, the auction house now calling the naval dress worn by Akshay in the movie as a costume. Salt scout, the auction house, also apologised to the serving army officers and veterans (through their counsel) and have now added a fine print, calling it as "Naval costume worn by Akshay himself in movie Rustom" on their auction web pages. The company is now auctioning only the pant, shirt and the cap (minus the ribbons/medals and rank).
