Ferrari raises the bar on exclusivity with 488 Pista 'Piloti'

The latest supremo of the Ferrari line up was limited already, but the newly introduced Pista Piloti model has raised the bar.

Ferrari is widely known across the globe for its exclusivity. Going the extra mile to preserve that, Ferrari had limited the number of 488 Pista that would hit the streets. The latest supremo of the Ferrari line up was limited already, but the newly introduced 488 Pista 'Piloti' model has raised the bar.

The car will only be available for exclusive Ferrari racing drivers of its community. The 488 Pista Piloti has launched on Friday at the  Circuit de la Sarthe in France ahead of the 86th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The premium model was is inspired by the No 51 AF Corse Ferrari GTW car of Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado which lead the duo to victory at the 2017 FIA WEC Driver’s Championship.

The Pista Piloti stands among the models which are almost completely bespoken. This includes the Grigio Corsa wheels could be changed to carbon fibre rims or matte black. You can also choose a black four-point harness instead of the black seatbelts. Apart from that, options on the new piloti include a matte carbon fibre trunk lid. 

The Italian flag livery features again along the car’s flanks which are also adorned with the personal race number each client will be able to add. Apart from that, The personalisation of the interior is completed by an exclusive identification plate and sill trim in carbon-fibre, the latter with the Tailor Made logo.

The Italian horse will sprint with the 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 720-cv engine, delivering a pure 710 hp on the road. The engine has been voted best engine in the world for the third consecutive year at the 2018 International Engine of the Year Awards.

The car will be offered in only four colours: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona and Argento Nürburgring. Differentiating the Pista Piloti from the from the Pista is the Italian flag livery that also features the WEC logo on the bonnet. Taking the cosmetic tweaks inside the cabinet, seats in the Piloti will feature a perforated material with the Italian flag on the backrest.

The car will be showcased at the Le Mans 2018 championship which will be flagged off on Saturday.
