Honda to recall over 2.5 million vehicles in US: Report

Around 2,539,902 vehicles will be recalled by the Japanese carmaker, attributing risk of fuel pump failure to an engine stall while driving

Honda Motor Co's American unit is set to recall over two lakh vehicles owing to fuel pump failure which can cause crashes, as per a US top safety regulator Thursday.

Somewhere 2,539,902 vehicles will be recalled by the Japanese carmaker, attributing risk of fuel pump failure to an engine stall while driving, which in turn can increasing the risk of a crash as per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Dealers of the car company will be replacing the fuel pump module at no cost, the NHTSA mandated.

As per a Japanese local publication, Honda Motor Co. filed a recall with the Japanese transport ministry for over 1.13 million cars in early December citing a fault in a fuel pump manufactured by Denso Corp which can cause unexpected engine failure.
