Maruti Suzuki Swift to Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: Top five hatchbacks with highest sales in September

The hatchback segment witnessed a marginal decline in sales in September 2024. The first position was secured by Maruti Suzuki Swift on the sales chart.

Top-selling hatchbacks: The hatchback segment witnessed a marginal decline in sales in September 2024. As per the data from SIAM, the sales in the hatchback segment plunged with the rise in demand for micro-SUVs. Maruti Suzuki secured the top position on the sales chart of the hatchback segment and recorded both growth and decline for its different models. Hyundai Motor managed to be in the top five list of the sales chart in September 2024. Let us look at the top five hatchbacks with the highest sales in September 2024:

Maruti Suzuki Swift:

The Maruti Suzuki Swift recorded total sales of 16,241 units in September 2024 and managed to be in the first position on the sales chart. Swift recorded a growth of 10.46 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a 26.45 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis. Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced a CNG version of the Swift in the market. 

Maruti Suzuki Baleno:

The Baleno from Maruti Suzuki recorded total sales of 14,292 units in September 2024 and was in the second position on the hatchback sales chart. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno registered a decline of 22.40 per cent on a year-on-year basis. On the contrary, Baleno registered a growth of 14.47 per cent on a month-on-month basis. 

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R: 

The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R registered total sales of 13,339 units in September 2024 and secured the third position on the sales chart. Wagon R recorded a decline of 17.91 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a decline of 18.91 per cent on a month-on-month basis.

Maruti Suzuki Alto:

The Alto from Maruti Suzuki is an entry-level hatchback, that registered total sales of 8,655 units in September 2024 and was on the fourth position on the sales chart. Alto registered a growth of 11.09 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a 1.28 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis. 

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: 

The fifth position on the sales chart is secured by the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which recorded total sales of 5,103 units in September 2024. Grand i10 Nios recorded a decline of 2.30 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a 4.88 per cent decline on a month-on-month basis.
