Volkswagen Tiguan Delisted from Indian Website Ahead of Tiguan R-Line Launch

VW Tiguan Delisted: German passenger vehicle manufacturer, Volkswagen India, officially delisted the Tiguan from the Indian website before the Tiguan R-Line launch. It was first launched in 2021 and was the flagship model by Volkswagen in India. Tiguan was available in a single Elegance variant to the buyers, which came via the CBU route in India.  It competed with the Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, and Isuzu MUX in its segment.

The last price recorded for the Volkswagen Tiguan was ₹38.17 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Elegance variant.

Volkswagen Tiguan Engine Specifications:

The Volkswagen Tiguan was equipped with a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which produced 190BHP and 320Nm torque, paired with a seven-speed DSG gearbox. It came with an AWD drivetrain option.

Upcoming Launch by Volkswagen India:

Recently, Volkswagen India has confirmed the launch of two new global models in India. The automaker has confirmed the launch of the Tiguan R-Line and the Golf GTI in India. Both the cars will come via the CBU route in India and will be limited in numbers.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Launch Date:

Volkswagen has confirmed the Tiguan R-Line will hit the Indian roads on April 14, 2025.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line Engine Specifications:

The Tiguan R-Line will be powered by a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which would produce 201BHP and 320Nm torque paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox in 4Motion AWD drivetrain.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Launch:

For performance enthusiasts, the next model that will come to India is the Golf GTI. It is a performance hatchback and will come in the MK 8.5 avatar. It will be launched for the first time in India. 

Volkswagen Golf GTI Engine Specifications:

The Golf GTI will be powered by a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which produces 261BHP and 375Nm torque, paired with a seven-speed DCT gearbox.
