IPL Gift - Tata Curvv: IPL is a popular cricket tournament in India. When a player wins the best player award in the tournament, he is awarded a special prize. This time, the prize for the Player of the Tournament was a Tata Curvv car. In IPL 2025, Vaibhav Suryavanshi from the Rajasthan Royals was awarded the Super Striker of the Season, as he had the highest strike rate in this season. While Tata Curvv has a stylish design and decent features, many fans and observers felt it didn’t quite live up to the occasion.
Here is a closer look at why Tata Curvv is not a car worth winning in IPL:
Tata Motors launched the Curvv in August 2024. Since it is a coupe-SUV, it has recorded decent sales figures in the previous months. The Curvv recorded sales of 5,101 units in November 2024, falling to 4,994 units in December 2024, and then falling massively to 3,087 units in January 2025. However, the sales did see a marginal growth in February and March, and April 2025 again recorded a decline.
Tata Motors has a wide array of cars offered in the market. Despite having the Harrier and the Safari as more popular options in the market, Curvv is a new option in the market, and most people don’t even know what it offers or how good it is.
Resale value means how much money you can get back if you sell the car later, and it is still a big perception among buyers in India. One of the concerns that buyers may face with the TATA Curvv is that they don’t expect it to hold its value well over time. One of the possible reasons is likely to be the track record, due its sluggish sales numbers every month.
