Taiwan's stock market opened higher on Friday morning with the winner of the US elections still unclear. As of 10:13 a.m. in Taipei (0213 GMT), Taiwan's main stock index rose 67.44 points or 0.52% to 12986.24.

Asian stock markets were mixed Friday after Wall Street rose amid protracted vote-counting following the presidential election in the US.

It's still unclear who will run the White House next year, though Democrat Joe Biden is pushing closer toward the needed mark as vote counting continued in a number of key states.
