Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei markets rise on opening

Asian stocks were mostly on the rise Tuesday while U.S. stocks fell about 3%

Asian stocks were mostly on the rise Tuesday while U.S. stocks fell about 3% on Wall Street the day before as Congress hit another roadblock in talks to inject nearly $2 trillion into the American economy.

The Japanese benchmark Nikkei 225 was at 18,026.73 up 6.74% during morning trade on Tuesday as most markets in the Asia region also climbed.

South Korea's market opened with a sharp rise with the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index of 1,523.69, up by 41.23 (2.78%) from the previous session's closing.

Taiwan stock market bounced back by over 5% after opening on Tuesday.

As of 10:38 am in Taipei, Taiwan's main stock index rose 519.37 points or 5.84 % to 9409.40.

Asian stock markets also gained Tuesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve promised support to the struggling economy as Congress delayed action on a $2 trillion Coronavirus aid package.
