Arnab Goswami opens India Economic Summit 2023

Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami inaugurated India Economic Summit in New Delhi on Tuesday. The India Economic Summit is being held at a time when India remains the fastest-growing major economy in the world and India's stock markets are trading at record highs.

The summit holds significance as India has emerged as the bright spot at a time when various countries are facing hard economic conditions. India recorded economic growth of 7.6 per cent in the second quarter of the current financial year, beating analyst estimates by leaps and bounds.

“India’s Economic Summit has developed as a platform where stakeholders in the economy and business come together. Republic has been the leader in English news and we are a leading Hindi and Bangla news… we recently launched Republic Kannada and we are working hard to build a global network and it gives us immense pride to launch a sixth mega brand for Republic Media that is Republic Business,” Goswami said at the launch of Republic Business at the India Economic Summit.

“The summit is happening at a time when India's story is strong in the face of global turmoil,” he said.

The world is looking towards India as an investment destination with foreign inflows soaring to highest in over six years.

Foreign inflows into government bonds hit the highest level in six years in November ahead of the securities being included in JPMorgan's emerging market index next year, with investors and treasury officials expecting buying to continue.

Foreign portfolio investors bought a net Rs 12,720 crore of bonds in November, the highest since June 2017, data from Clearing Corp of India showed.

Of these, around Rs 9,660 crore of purchases were securities with no investment limit, which will be included in the JPMorgan index.
