A tragic plane crash took place in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon, minutes after the Air India flight AI171 took off.
According to reports, there were 242 passengers on-board, one among whom was the Former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani as well.
At present, a full emergency has been declared and firefighters and rescue teams have been rushed to the spot.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Boeing 787 aircraft,registration VT-ANB, operating flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad.
In several posts that surfaced the internet on this occasion were a series of posts with the sentiments and hashtags of boycotting Air India.
One among these was from a user who said that she met a relative of hers who works for Air India last week and they have been there for more than 2 decades but now the airline does not even get proper parts. "Nothing works. The aircrafts are not fit for flying, has been way worse since the govt. has bought it. Boycott," the user added.
In yet another post, a user said, "Air India is murderer chairman, CEO of Air India. Everybody is a murderer. I got this airline and recommend to everyone boycott this airline forever. Otherwise, you will lost anyone of your family member."
Another user added, “Boycott air india , this is Danger for Human Safety.”
Several sentiments about boycotting Boeing also surfaced.
