Why Is Trump Expanding To India?

The expansion in India, which is the biggest market for Trump's real estate business outside of the US, comes at a point when the two countries are discussing bilateral trade deals.

Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi was hosted by the US President Donald Trump at the White House after he won the US elections for a second term as President and Trump has indicated India could be among the nations that get hit with reciprocal duty starting April 2.

Ethics Of Leadership And Business

While it may be argued that owning businesses while being the President of the United Nations may be unethical, Trump had handed the management of his company to his sons and put his assets in a trust - measures that according to critics weren't enough to fully divorce him from the business empire, according to a Bloomberg report.

New Ethics Plan

Trump Organization announced a new ethics plan in January which loosened one previous restriction. Consequently, while new deals with foreign governments are off limits, it doesn't rule out pursuing deals with foreign companies.

A luxury retail boulevard will showcase high-end brands, while India’s first Trump Club will offer an exclusive space for business leaders, complete with dining and networking facilities.
