Gadkari stressed the global significance of halting petrol and diesel imports, linking it directly to curbing terrorism worldwide. He expressed a personal mission to cease these imports, believing it would symbolise a momentous milestone for India's sovereignty.
He underscored the financial impact of reducing these imports, highlighting the current Rs 16 lakh crore import bill for petrol and diesel. Gadkari proposed that redirecting these funds could benefit the underprivileged, advocating for alternative fuels like biofuel to diminish imports while simultaneously boosting exports for the nation's welfare and self-reliance.

Moreover, he highlighted the remarkable growth of India's automobile industry from Rs 7 lakh crore in 2014 to Rs 12.5 lakh crore today, providing employment to 4.5 crore individuals and contributing significantly to both state and central government revenues through GST.
Anticipating India's ascent to the top spot in the global automobile industry within the next five years, Gadkari pointed out the industry's excessive reliance on imports. He emphasised the imperative for India to become a leading exporter to achieve its goal of becoming a global leader and a USD five trillion economy. Highlighting recent progress, he noted India's leap from seventh to third place in automobile exports, surpassing formidable competitors like Japan.
