TCS recruitment scam: India's largest IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), took action in response to a recruitment scam, revealing that 16 employees have been terminated, and six vendors and their affiliates have been debarred from engaging in business with TCS. The scam, which involved alleged malpractices by vendors collaborating with TCS staff, came to light in late June, posing a challenge for newly appointed CEO K Krithivasan.

In a statement, TCS outlined the outcomes of their investigation, confirming the involvement of 19 employees, with 16 terminated for code of conduct violations and three removed from their roles in resource management.

No financial implications

However, the investigation cleared the company's key managerial personnel of any involvement and stressed that the incident did not constitute fraud against the company nor did it have financial implications.

TCS underlined its commitment to bolstering governance measures. The company said in a statement, “We will continue to enhance governance measures, including regularly rotating personnel in the resource management function and enhancing analytics on supplier management.”

TCS also said, “The company expects all stakeholders and employees to adhere to the Tata code of conduct, and added that it has zero tolerance for unethical conduct.”
