Birla Corporation posts Rs 58.37 crore profit in September quarter

Birla Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the MP Birla group, has reported a consolidated post-tax profit of Rs 58.37 crore for the second quarter ending September 30, 2023. This marks a significant turnaround from the loss of Rs 56.46 crore incurred during the same period last year. In the first quarter of the current financial year, the company, primarily engaged in cement manufacturing, achieved a post-tax profit of Rs 59.71 crore.
The total income of the company witnessed a robust growth of 13.3 per cent, reaching Rs 2313.23 crore in the second quarter, compared to Rs 2041.58 crore in the corresponding period last year. Birla Corporation disclosed these financial figures in a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
Additionally, the debt-equity ratio for Birla Corporation in the current second quarter stood at 0.75, indicating a balanced financial structure, as stated by the company. The operating margin also showed a substantial improvement, standing at 12.88 per cent during the second quarter, in contrast to the 4.78 per cent recorded in the similar previous period.

These financial results suggest a positive trajectory for Birla Corporation, reflecting enhanced profitability and operational efficiency in the current fiscal year.
