Lupin secures USFDA nod for generic Fluconazole tablets

The regulatory approval covers Fluconazole tablets with strengths of 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg.

Lupin, a pharmaceutical company, has received the green light from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market its generic Fluconazole tablets, which are used in treating fungal infections. The regulatory approval covers Fluconazole tablets with strengths of 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg, as disclosed by Lupin in an official statement.

These tablets are generic alternatives to Pfizer Inc's Diflucan tablets, which are available in the same strengths. Lupin will produce these generic Fluconazole tablets at its facility in Pithampur, India.

According to Lupin, Fluconazole Tablets have been generating an estimated annual revenue of $43 million in the United States, as per data from IQVIA MAT in July 2023.
