Indian IT giant Infosys has agreed to pay $17.5 million (over Rs 145 crore) to settle lawsuits related to a cybersecurity incident involving its subsidiary, Infosys McCamish Systems (IMS).

In a filing to stock exchanges, the Bengaluru-based firm confirmed that McCamish had reached an agreement in principle with plaintiffs of “multiple class action” lawsuits filed in the United States.

The lawsuits stemmed from a cybersecurity breach that affected IMS applications and systems, leading to significant disruptions, the filing added.

Following mediation on March 13, 2025, an agreement was reached to establish a $17.5 million “settlement fund”. This fund will be used to resolve claims not only against McCamish but also against its affected customers.

"This proposed settlement will address all pending class action lawsuits and resolve the allegations without any admission of liability," Infosys stated.

The settlement, once amicably resolved, is expected to bring an end to the tussle surrounding the incident, thus enabling Infosys and its subsidiary to focus on strengthening their cybersecurity infrastructure and “operational resilience”.
