PM Modi Hails Crew-9 Astronauts, Lauds Sunita Williams’ Perseverance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed NASA’s Crew-9 astronauts, including seasoned astronaut Sunita Williams, upon their safe return to Earth. In a tweet, he praised their resilience and dedication to advancing space exploration.

"Welcome back, #Crew9! The Earth missed you. Theirs has been a test of grit, courage, and the boundless human spirit," tweeted PM Modi, adding, "Sunita Williams and the #Crew9 astronauts have once again shown us what perseverance truly means."

The Crew-9 mission, part of NASA and SpaceX’s continuous collaboration, saw astronauts undertaking critical scientific research onboard the International Space Station (ISS).

PM Modi also underscored the significance of space exploration, describing it as a testament to humanity’s ability to dream and achieve. In his view," Space exploration is about pushing the limits of human potential, daring to dream, and having the courage to turn those dreams into reality."

Modi also eulogised Williams, who is recognized for her pioneering space trips, continues to inspire millions with her passion to pushing the frontiers of human discovery. “Sunita Williams, a trailblazer and an icon, has exemplified this spirit throughout her career,” stated Modi.

While acknowledging the crew member's dedication which resulted in the mission’s success, he noted, "We are incredibly proud of all those who worked tirelessly to ensure their (crew members') safe return. They have demonstrated what happens when precision meets passion and technology meets tenacity."
