Royal Enfield has launched the eagerly awaited Classic 650, priced at Rs. 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The latest addition to the company’s 650cc series is available in three variants: Classic, Hotrod, and Chrome.
First showcased at EICMA last year, the retro-styled cruiser expands the brand’s 650cc lineup, which already includes the Shotgun 650, Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650, and Interceptor Bear 650.
The Hotrod trim, priced at Rs. 3.37 lakh, is available in two colours: Bruntingthorpe Blue and Vallam Red. The Classic variant, offered in an exclusive Teal colour, is priced at Rs. 3.41 lakh. The top-end Chrome variant is available in Black Chrome at Rs. 3.50 lakh.
Borrowing styling cues from the Classic 350, the Classic 650 features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round headlamp with signature position lamps, twin exhausts, and touches of chrome. Based on the same platform as the Shotgun 650, the Classic 650 Twin sports a retro-inspired design with chrome-finished switchgear and wheel hubs.
It features a 43mm telescopic front fork with 120mm of travel and twin rear shocks with 90mm of travel.
The newest Royal Enfield model is powered by a 648cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, producing 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch. This is the same engine that powers the Interceptor 650 and Shotgun 650.
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin is equipped with a USB Type-C charging port, a digital-analogue instrument console, and a Tripper navigation pod. With its vintage aesthetics and modern technology, these features are similar to those found in the Classic 350. The bike also comes with adjustable levers and a brake setup consisting of discs at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
Bookings for the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin by April 2025.
