WeWork China has formally declared that it will not be partaking in the strategic restructuring efforts of WeWork in the United States and Canada. In a statement released on WeChat, WeWork China underlined that it operates independently and possesses its own management capabilities, stressing that it is not a subsidiary or division of WeWork.
This stance by WeWork China mirrors the position taken by WeWork's India subsidiary, which has asserted its autonomy and emphasised that the bankruptcy of WeWork Global will not affect its operations.
WeWork, a startup with backing from SoftBank Group, recently filed for bankruptcy protection in the United States after facing challenges related to companies reducing their utilization of its shared office spaces.
WeWork China made it clear that any developments or operational conditions in other regions around the world will not have an impact on its operations and activities. This move underscores WeWork China's independence from the broader challenges faced by WeWork Global.
