New Delhi: Vijayan Trishul Defence Solutions (VTDS) has signed a strategic technology partnership with DEUS Automation a.s. of the Czech Republic, under which the Czech firm will provide advanced manufacturing technology for the production of small-calibre ammunition in India. DEUS Automation is a sister company of the Czech Republic's STV Group.
VTDS is licensed by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the manufacture and proof-testing of small arms and ammunition. According to the company, the agreement is among the first major technology-transfer collaborations in the small-calibre ammunition sector between the two countries.
The transfer is intended to help VTDS build manufacturing capability based on international quality benchmarks, precision engineering standards and modern production systems.
VTDS was founded by Sahil Luthra, Founder and Managing Director, and Prikansha Luthra, Co-Founder and Director. The company says its strategy is to combine global technological expertise with domestic manufacturing capacity, in line with India's defence self-reliance objectives.

They said it reflects a shared intent to support India's defence manufacturing ambitions through the transfer of proven international expertise and production technologies.
Alignment With Make In India
The company says the collaboration is aligned with the Government of India's Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives in the defence sector. By enabling domestic production, the partnership is expected to reduce dependence on imports, strengthen indigenous manufacturing capacity and improve supply chain resilience.
VTDS said the alliance also establishes a framework for continued cooperation between Indian and Czech defence industries in technology exchange and industrial development.
