High Scores and Compensatory Marks

The NTA clarified that the unusually high scores of 718 and 719 by some candidates were due to the awarded compensatory marks. These marks were given exclusively to the 1563 candidates affected by the loss of exam time.

Perfect Scores and Physics Question Controversy

Addressing the concern of 44 candidates scoring a perfect 720/720, the NTA explained that this was due to a revision in the answer key for a specific Physics question. Following 27,020 answer key challenges, experts reviewed the question and determined that two options were correct. This revision, coupled with compensatory marks awarded to six candidates, led to the high number of perfect scores.

No Evidence of Paper Leaks

The NTA categorically denied any reports of paper leaks in Bihar or Godhra, stating that the allegations were related to cheating and impersonation rather than actual paper leaks. All printed question papers were accounted for, and the NTA emphasized its commitment to cooperating with ongoing investigations by law enforcement agencies.

Incident in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan

An incident at the Girl’s Higher Secondary Model School in Sawai Madhopur involved the incorrect distribution of question papers, leading to agitation among candidates. Some students left the examination center with the question papers, which were later circulated on social media. Despite this, the NTA confirmed that no external access to the examination centers occurred once the exams started. Affected candidates were re-examined on the same day with the correct question papers.

Action Against Impersonators

The NTA is actively working with stakeholders to address allegations of impersonation and solver gangs. Cases have been registered against identified impersonators, and strict disciplinary actions are being pursued.

The NTA remains dedicated to ensuring the fairness and integrity of the NEET (UG) 2024 examination process and will continue to support investigations and maintain transparent communication with the public.
