IIT Patna 2023 placements: Students get 147 job offers in phase-1, highest package of Rs 82 lakh

IIT Patna's class of 2024 commenced its Phase-1 placement session with a soaring success, bagging an impressive total of 147 job offers, including Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Amidst a global economic slowdown, this promising start has reaffirmed the institute's resilience and the quality of talent it nurtures. The highest package bagged by IIT Patna student was Rs 82 lakh per annum. The student was of computer science engineering branch. 

Despite challenging market conditions, over 65 companies have actively participated in this phase, offering roles across diverse profiles including Software Engineer, Digital Consultant, Business Consultant, IT Security Engineer, and Analyst.

Top recruiters in this placement season include Atlassian, Google, Media.Net, and Sprinklr, offering some of the highest domestic packages. Notably, ZS Associates, Tiger Analytics, and Brane Enterprises have emerged as leading contributors, extending multiple offers to students.

The placement drive also witnessed international participation, with notable names like Accenture Japan, Suntory Holdings, Niterra, and Money Forward offering international job roles. Additionally, two esteemed Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), CDOT and BPCL, contributed to the placement process.

The current phase foresees further prospects, with approximately 30 more companies expected to participate, broadening the array of choices available to the students.

Kripa Shankar Singh, the Training and Placement Officer at IIT Patna, highlighted the diverse participation of students from various streams and the involvement of corporations from multiple sectors. He noted the inclusion of new companies in the recruitment process, highlighting the institute's growing industry network.

Average CTC stands at Rs 22 lakh

In terms of compensation, the average CTC stands at INR ₹22.23 lakhs, with 32 offers exceeding INR ₹30 lakhs and 66 offers surpassing the INR ₹20 lakhs mark. Notably, 75% of placements were secured in the BTech, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch, boasting an impressive average CTC of ₹27.60 lakhs.

Professor T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, commended the students for their resilience and adaptability in securing remarkable offers across diverse domains. He emphasized that these achievements underscore the industry's acknowledgment of the quality of education and talent fostered at IIT Patna.

Looking ahead, the institute anticipates the involvement of around 20 more companies in the subsequent phase of recruitment, scheduled to commence in the middle of January. The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) at IIT Patna remains optimistic about the continued success and progression of the recruitment drive in the forthcoming phases.
