  • 'BJP can detain him but they cannot pull him out of people's heart and mind', says Tej Pratap, elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav
  • He was responding to the sensational allegations leveled by Rabri Devi, former CM of Bihar that there is a threat to the life of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav

Days after former Chief Minister of Bihar Rabri Devi alleged that there was a plot to kill her husband and fellow former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav in the hospital by poisoning him, their elder son Tej Pratap has said that Lalu Yadav is in the hearts of people and nothing can change that.

Taking to Twitter, Tej Pratap said:

"Lalu ji was in the hearts of people. Lalu Ji is in the hearts of people. BJP can detain him but they cannot pull him out of people's heart and minds."

Earlier on Saturday, Rabri Devi had alleged that the central government is trying to kill her husband Lalu Yadav by poisoning him, while he is in jail. Her comments came after the family was denied their meeting with Lalu Yadav on Saturday.

"They did not even let his own son meet him on Saturday. They only allow three people to meet him every week. If something happens to Lalu ji then the people will take to the streets. If the state and Central government want to kill him by poisoning, if they want to kill entire Lalu family, they can do that, this kind of dictatorship won't work," he said.

Rebel JD(U) MP Sharad Yadav also came in support of the Lalu family.

"In light of what is happening with Lalu ji and Rabri ji is so unhappy, we all must think why is it happening to them. It is clear that the government is afraid of those who fight for social justice. And the way they suspended me from the Parliament, it shows this government is in fear."

The three cases in which Lalu Yadav has been convicted are related to the over Rs. 900-crore fodder scam, which pertains to fraudulent withdrawal of money from the treasuries in the Animal Husbandry department in the early 1990s, when Jharkhand was still a part of Bihar.
