Republic TV on Friday announced the result of the Jan Ki Baat exit polls for the state of Chhattisgarh. The first phase of voting in the state took place on November 12 and the second phase on November 20.

As per the Jan Ki Baat exit polls, BJP is predicted to form the government in Chhattisgarh for the fourth consecutive term by winning a seat share between 40-48. Congress is projected to repeat its 2013 assembly elections fate by securing the second position with 39-42 seats in 2018 poll results. The newly formed Mayawati-led BSP and  Ajit Jogi led JCC alliance is predicted to win 5-6 seats.

Others are projected to win 0-1 seats, as per the Jan Ki Baat exit polls.

For the 90 seats in Chhattisgarh state, there is a three-way contest between the BJP, Congress and the newly formed Mayawati-Ajit Jogi led alliance. With the Congress and BJP going head-to-head, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi campaigning heavily in the state, along with long-time Chief Minister Raman Singh of the BJP and surprise face Navjot Singh Sidhu for the Congress, there is every chance that the election result may also be a referendum on the faces of the various parties.
BJP's Raman Singh being the longest serving Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh has been a popular face among the voters, thanks to the various pro welfare schemes that he introduced during his tenure.

While there was a call for boycott of elections by Maoists in the state, there was a massive voters turnout who went ahead to cast their vote to form the new government.
In 2013, BJP won the majority in the state with 49 seats while Congress stood second with a wafer thin margin by winning 39 seats. Moreover, BSP secured only one seat in the state.

With the assembly elections, the final countdown to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has begun. The results of the assembly polls in all five states, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh will profoundly determine the national mood.

Results for all 5 states will be declared on December 11
