The BJP Manifesto which has been released on Monday has a detailed plan paving the path to India becoming a 5 trillion dollar economy and jumping ranks from being the 6th largest economy in the world to the 3rd.
The manifesto gives the vision of becoming the world's 3rd largest economy:
"While branded as the 'fragile five' in 2014, India has now become the fastest growing economy. We aspire to make India the third largest economy by 2030, which means we aim in making India a $5 trillion economy by 2025 and $10 trillion economy by 2032."
Listing the various focus areas of development, the manifesto speaks on the action plan till used till now and its continuation:
"Tax to GDP ratio has reached 12% up from 10.1% since 2013-14, by lowering of tax rate thereby rewarding honest tax payers and improving compliance. Compared to the base year of GST introduction, revenue has increased by 50% and we will continue with simplification of GST by engaging with the stake holders"
" We will promote Yoga as a method of physical rejuvenation and expand on Yoga Tourism, hubs and research."
" Will make a capital investment of 100 lakh crore in infrastructure sector by anchoring inflation at 4% and cleaning up over banking system."
"To promote India as a global manufacturing hub, we will follow these steps-
- Enter the Top 50 ranking in ease of doing business index (currently ast 65)
- Strengthen Companies Act to incentivize compliance of law and ease of doing business.
- Introduce new industrial policy to improve competitiveness of manufacturing and services industry.
- Invest in creating clusters and networks to improve growth by using public procurement and government incentives"
"Expansion of Technology centres upto 150 to povide focussed and high level skills to more than 6 lakh people per year. Welfare of small traders will also be taken upon by establishing national boards and creating policies."
"With India being the largest start up ecosystem in the world, we will strengthen India by easing regulations, creating innovation zones, introduce ranking of central ministries amd create 'Seed startup fund' of 20,000 crore with focus on tribal and North-East entrepreneurship."
"Identify places of culture and national importance, interconnecting all the essential services in help tourism department work with all the other services department."
"Continue crackdown on Benami properties and bring fugitive economic offenders back to India. In International trade, we will ensure faster customs clearance and provide sufficient financial support to exporters."
Lok Sabha polling will take place in seven phases for all the 29 states and seven Union Territories beginning from April 11 to May 7, 2019. The results will be announced on May 23, 2019.
