The imminent victory of PM Narendra Modi is reverberating not just in India, but across the world. As NDA marked a remarkable victory in the Lok Sabha 2019 elections, several global leaders have come forward to congratulate the Indian Prime Minister. As per reports, French President Emmanuel Macron made a congratulatory phone call to PM Modi on May 23, after his electoral victory became clear.

The two leaders reportedly reaffirmed their commitment to work together towards further strengthening of the Strategic Partnership between the two nations. Prime Minister Modi thanked France for her steadfast support to India on critical issues.

Describing PM Modi as one of the foremost leaders of the democratic world, President Macron reiterated his invitation to Prime Minister Modi to visit France in August 2019 for a bilateral meeting and also to attend the G7 Summit at Biarritz.

World leaders seem to have taken note of the scale of the ruling party National Democratic Alliance’s performance in the Lok Sabha elections as several other nations have come forward to wish PM Modi. Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan and President of the People Republic of China, Xi Jinping also extended warm greetings to the Prime Minister.

Here are the Tweets from some of the global leaders:

The counting of votes began at 8 am on May 23 in each of the 542 constituencies (the Vellore Lok Sabha polls had been countermanded).

Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies are set to win over 350 seats if the trends towards the end of the counting session are anything to go by. The United Progressive Alliance, in all probability, won’t touch three figures and stood at 94 seats at the time of publishing the story. Even the combined tally of all the other parties might not reach the three-figure mark, as it was just 97 seats.
