Lok Sabha Election Results 2019 | ‘I hereby solemnly swear that...’ Siddarth promises to do this if PM Modi doesn’t get a second term

The day that the nation was waiting for, the General Election Results, the make-or-break for both the Government and the Opposition, is here. The counting for the Lok Sabha elections kicked at 8 am on Thursday and within the first few minutes itself, it was also clear which party is likely to form the next Indian government. An hour after the early trends indicated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is enjoying a healthy margin over the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Siddharth was also assured that there was nothing that could stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi from retaining his chair. The ‘Rang De Basanti’ star asserted ‘Aayega to Modi Hi’, a tagline that attained traction in the run-up to the results. The actor also stated that he will delete his Twitter account permanently if PM Modi doesn’t get a second term.

Siddharth at 9.15am tweeted, “I hereby solemnly swear that if @narendramodi ji does not get a second term, I will delete my Twitter account permanently. Jai Hind. #AayegaToModiHi.” 

The actor, of course, knows only a miracle could prove otherwise and it was an interesting way to prove it. 

Siddharth is known for taking on the ruling party over various topics, one example of this was his dig at Akshay Kumar, over his interview with PM Modi and the actor’s Canadian citizenship.

As per the initial trends at the time of publishing this story, the NDA is leading over 300 seats, much more than the 272 majority-mark needed to form the government. The UPA was leading in just over 100 seats, while all the other candidates constituted for around 80 seats.
