On a day when the Congress is set to announce the next CM of the three states (Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh) in which it either won or was the single largest party following the recent elections, Akali Dal leader and Delhi MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa has fired a warning at Rahul Gandhi, telling him not to make Kamal Nath as the CM of Madhya Pradesh due to his alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Taking to Twitter, Sirsa wrote, "I warn @RahulGandhi -Sikhs hv been patient enough but don't instigate them with your decision to make @OfficeofKNath the CM of MP! History shows when someone dares to be Sikhs’ enemy; Sikhs throttle the cruel oppressors with befitting & memorable response"

The Congress was the single-largest party, winning 114 seats in the state of MP after the recent assembly elections. They managed to just usurp the incumbent ruling BJP, which won 109 seats. The Others, which comprised of BSP, GGP and Independents won seven seats.

Despite falling two short of the majority mark, Congress is set to form the government with the help of Independents and parties like BSP and GGP. Reports have suggested that in a two-way contest between Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia for the CM's post, it will be Nath who'd be formally announced as the CM on Thursday. Party president Rahul Gandhi has been tasked with choosing between the two.
