National Approval Ratings: In Delhi, BJP predicted to clean sweep; Congress, AAP left empty handed

India is all set to witness the biggest celebration of democracy in just three days. Over 900 million citizens are gearing up to cast their votes to elect their preferred representatives for the 543 parliamentary seats. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a second straight term, and Congress president Rahul Gandhi aiming to topple the NDA government, the poll clouds have spread across the Indian sub-continent. Republic TV and CVoter have presented the National Approval Ratings i.e the biggest opinion poll ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Even as the Congress party has yet not cleared the air on an alliance with Arvind Kejriwal-led ruling Aam Aadmi Party in the national capital for the 2019 polls, the Delhi chief minister has kept his hopes high on the alliance to tackle the BJP government. Amid the back-and-forth between AAP and Congress over joining hands in the national capital, BJP is predicted to sweep a massive victory and topple the Arvind Kejriwal government by winning all the seven seat.

Here are the numbers for Delhi that sends seven MPs to the Lower House :

• Congress: 22.6%

Comparison with earlier predictions:

March Predictions: BJP was projected to topple the AAP government, by winning all the seven seats, and leaving none for Congress and AAP.

January predictions: BJP was predicted to usurp the Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi with a clean sweep of seven seats, while thus leaving Congress and AAP at zero. 

As Delhi gears up to go into the polls, will the Congress' hand (Cong election symbol) hold the AAP's ‘broom’ (AAP’s election symbol) to clean ‘lotus’ (BJP’s symbol) from the national capital?  With both the BJP and Congress having had released their election manifestos enlisting their promises for the voters ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the stakes have increased to top-notch for the Prime Ministerial post. May 23 will decide the fate of the 543 Lok Sabha seats.
