With just days to go ahead of the first phase of voting in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Republic TV and CVoter have published the National Approval Ratings  - the biggest opinion poll ahead of the all-important elections.

The state of Punjab presents an interesting scenario. The Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government is in power in the state having dislodged the BJP-Akali Dal alliance in the 2017 assembly elections. The Aam Aadmi Party is also looking at Punjab to make an expansion. With 13 seats up for grabs, here is the projection for the state of Punjab:

Vote Share:

UPA: 41.2%

NDA: 36.7%

AAP: 15.7%

Seat Share:

UPA: 12 seats

NDA: 1 seat

AAP: 0  seats

It is projected that the Congress party will get a big return from Punjab by winning a stunning 12 seats. The BJP, on the other hand, is projected to win just one.

More so, in terms of vote share, the UPA is projected to win 41.2% of the votes while the NDA is projected to win 36.7%. Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP is projected to be the biggest loser in the state, with zero seats despite a 15.7% vote-share.

Comparison to 2014:

In 2014, NDA, UPA, and AAP shared seats amongst each other in a mouthwatering contest. The NDA won six seats all together, while the AAP won four. The Congress had won the remaining three seats.
