DMK president MK Stalin on Monday slammed the BJP government, saying that the Tamil youths are being ignored and deliberately not given jobs in central government offices in the state.

"Both BJP at the Centre and AIADMK at the state have betrayed Tamils by recruiting people from other states in jobs in the state," MK Stalin said.

DMK ensured that 90 percent of Tamil youths will get jobs in central government jobs and other related public sector companies in the state of Tamil Nadu. Around 80 lakh youths from Tamil Nadu have registered in employment exchange and waiting for the jobs. However, MK Stalin alleged that the BJP government is deliberately recruiting North Indians for the vacant central government jobs in the state, terming it as a 'betrayal' against the Tamil population which has increased in last 5 years after BJP's regime.

Stalin further claimed that 300 railway vacancies for the job of apprentice, welders and other related jobs which was recently filled recently are full of North Indians, adding there are no people from the state at the job.

"Hundreds of Tamil youths wrote the exam out of which none were selected," the DMK president added.

Later he stated that this has increased the unemployment rate in the state, accusing the BJP government of what has happened. Launching a scathing attack at the AIADMK government, Stalin said that it is even worse that AIADMK government is supporting BJP in the deed and further having an alliance with the party.

"After May 23, things will change and DMK will ensure that 90% of Tamil youths will be recruited in all the vacant central government jobs in Tamil Nadu," the DMK president asserted in his statement.

This has come after there was a buzz on the social media with the hashtag #TamilnadujobsforTamils going viral on Twitter after the railway recruitment board widely appointed people from other states for the jobs.

This followed several protests in a few parts of the states by the left groups and pro-Tamil groups against the recruitment of other people from other states in railway jobs in Tamil Nadu.

Responding to MK Stalin's allegations, BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy said that MK Stalin is trying to create the lingual issue as he is in the fear of defeat.

"The jobs and placements of Tamils are made adequately in all the central government jobs. Let Stalin come up with the right facts and figures about the recruitment, else he should apologize for the statement," the BJP leader said.
