The exit polls for the state of Telangana where elections were held on Friday are out and they are all unanimous in one thing -- KCR has pulled a masterstroke by dissolving the state assembly and forcing early elections in the state.

Despite the Congress going hammer and tongs in Telangana, fielding Sonia Gandhi for a rare campaign rally and even allying with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, six different exit polls predict that the TRS will be the largest party. Some polls, including the poll of polls, project that KCR will have a majority on his own.

In the event that KCR's final seats fall at the conservative spectrum of the above polls, there is always the chance that his chances will be bolstered by the AIMIM which has said it will extend support if the need arises.

The Congress-TDP alliance, meanwhile, is projected to be looking at a best-case scenario of 53 seats and a worst case of 27. The BJP, meanwhile, has not succeeded in making significant inroads in the state.

Telangana had witnessed a multi-dimensional battle between the TRS-AIMIM (non a pre-poll alliance) combine, the Congress-TDP front and the BJP, following elections being held early after Telangana CM KCR dissolved the assembly thereby necessitating polls.

KCR, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu addressed multiple rallies across the state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and Communist Party of India (CPI) had formed an alliance with the Congress party. BJP is contesting alone in the elections with K Chandrasekhar Rao's Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM also in the league to form the government in the state.

With the assembly elections, the final countdown to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has begun. The results of the assembly polls in all five states, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh will profoundly determine the national mood.

Results for all 5 states will be declared on December 11.
