Republic Double Exit Poll for Telangana: KCR's TRS projected to sweep again, BJP and Congress likely to fight over what remains say CVoter and Jan Ki Baat

With the six-week long thrilling dance of democracy coming to an end on Sunday with the completion of the seventh and final phase of voting in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, all eyes are now fixated on the eventual fate of the seats in the poll fray across the 542 constituencies. With an estimated 900 million-strong electorate, the world's largest democracy now waits to learn of the composition of the 17th Lok Sabha and consequently, the next government of India.

With an estimated 900 million-strong electorate, the world's largest democracy now waits to learn of the composition of the 17th Lok Sabha and consequently, the next government of India. 

Ahead of this, Republic Media Network has broadcast the largest exit poll - a mega double exit poll in collaboration with Jan Ki Baat and CVoter - which gives us the first and most detailed projection as to who will emerge triumphant on May 23

Telangana Projections:

In the southern state of Telangana, 443 candidates contested in the 17 constituencies. The significant parties to contest the state were the national parties BJP and Congress and the regional parties K. Chandrashekar Rao's TRS and Asaddudin Owaisi's AIMIM.

Here are the projections for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Telangana: 

In the state according to both the psephologists, TRS is predicted to sweep the state single-handedly by securing a majority, while Congress-led UPA, BJP-led NDA, and Owaisi's AIMIM is projected to secure one seat each. According to CVoter, TRS will have a maximum vote-share of 37.3%, followed by UPA at 31.1%.

In the state, talks of a 'Federal Front' took charge as Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao attempted to band together with the southern leaders to build a non-BJP and non-Congress front. 

An interesting report that emerged from the state wherein the candidates with the most and least declared assets in Phase-1 of Lok Sabha polls contested for the same state, Chevalla.

KV Reddy was the richest candidate in the entire Phase -1 field of candidates from 91 seats, with declared assets exceeding Rs. 895 crore as per Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) Initiative and Nalla Prem Kumar became the candidate in Phase-1 with the least declared assets, just Rs.500.

The political discourse of this election season ranged from cracks in coalition to astonishing communal and crass statements by leaders across parties, Azam Khan, Yogi Adityanath, Maneka Gandhi and others being struck down on by the Election Commission and others, like Sam Pitroda, Sadhvi Pragya and Kamal Haasan triggering mass outrage.
