Veteran BJP leader LK Advani had recently written on his blog that 'elections were the festivals of democracy'. Polling booth 126 in Baraut, Baghpat in Western Uttar Pradesh has taken this sentiment literally by welcoming the voters with flowers being showered at them and 'Dhol' being played by local NCC cadets, celebrating the world's largest democracy.

In Baghpat, Union Minister Satyapal Singh, the sitting lawmaker MP, will contest against RLD's Jayant Chaudhary on Thursday in the Lok Sabha polls.
The first phase of polling is underway where 1285 candidates are contesting 91 seats in 1,69,400 polling centres spread across 18 states and two union territories on April 11, Thursday.
