BJP’s Anil Vij Wants To Become CM If Party Wins Haryana Elections, Says 'Will Stake A Claim'

Haryana Elections: Senior BJP leader and former state minister Anil Vij has announced his intention to claim the Haryana Chief Minister's post, citing his seniority and significant public pressure. Vij, who is running for the state assembly for the seventh time, emphasized his long-standing service as the most senior MLA in Haryana .
Speaking to IANS, Vij stated, “I am the senior-most MLA from Haryana , having served six terms and contesting for the seventh. I have never requested anything from the party, but this time there is immense pressure from the people of Haryana . Therefore, based on my seniority, I will stake a claim for the Chief Minister’s position.”
Vij acknowledged that the final decision on his appointment rests with the party.
“Whether they appoint me or not is their prerogative. If I am made CM, I will transform Haryana ,” he added.
Haryana Assembly Elections
Voting for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana is scheduled for October 5, with votes set to be counted on October 8.
In June, Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the BJP is prepared to contest the Haryana elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also supported Saini during a rally in Kurukshetra, praising his leadership and the accomplishments of his government since he assumed office in March.
