New Delhi: As the swearing ceremony of the Narendra Modi 3.0 Cabinet concluded at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in presence of the dignitaries from across the country and world, all eyes were on the new faces inducted in the Cabinet. The new Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been balanced with inclusion of old and new names. While there was a lot of speculation regarding the demands posed by the alliance partners before the prime minister, the 33 new faces including 8 Cabinet ministers in the Modi 3.0 government included several names from the JDU, TDP, LJP and other allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Earlier in the day, the newly-elected Members of Parliament (MPs) had gathered at the prime minister’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony.

In the new Cabinet, over a dozen BJP MPs and other NDA allies leaders were sworn-in as the council of ministers. With BJP’s numbers dropping below the majority mark in the Lok Sabha elections, it now relies on its NDA allies to cross the magic figure of 272. It is, therefore, that the BJP tried to strike a balance with its alliance partners over ministerial berths.
If sources are to be believed, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, S Jaishankar and Nirmala Sitharaman are likely to retain their respective portfolios.
