New Delhi: After a historic hat-trick of BJP in Haryana , Chief Minister Nayyab Singh Saini arrived in Delhi with the party's state President Mohan Lal Badoli to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
Saini is all set to take oath as the CM of the state on Dusshera, Oct 12, as per sources.
'The Credit Goes to PM': Saini
After concluding his meeting with Prime Minister, Saini on Wednesday said, "The credit to this huge victory goes to PM Modi who has made such policies and schemes in the last 10 years which have benefitted poor, farmer, youth, women. His schemes are for every section of the society. This victory is the result of the PM's policies and people's love and affection towards PM Modi. I thank the people of Haryana . I am grateful to the party workers of Haryana as well... Those who question EVM - I said 4 days back that all the surveys were in favour of Congress , they were trying to create an environment that - Congress is coming to power. But, I have said that we have worked so much in these 10 years under the leadership of PM Modi that the people will make us win...I have done my duty, my parliamentary board and the MLAs will elect their leader and the order of the parliamentary board will be accepted by everyone. The observers will come and see what is to be done."
This comes a day after the Haryana election results on Tuesday served in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ). The BJP, which appeared to be trailing in early trends, deftly turned the tables and snatched victory from the clutches of Congress , showcasing their prowess as the results rolled in.
Saini won the Ladwa assembly seat on Tuesday by a margin of 16,054 votes against his nearest Congress rival Mewa Singh, according to the Election Commission. Thanking the voters, he had said that people have "put a stamp" on the government's policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
Saini's leadership came at a crucial time when the BJP was facing big challenges in Haryana , grappling with rising anti-incumbency and Jat resentment. Despite the setbacks in the Lok Sabha polls, where the BJP lost half its seats, Saini managed to turn the tide.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the BJP 's win in the Haryana Assembly polls as a victory of its politics of development and good governance, assuring people that the party will leave no stone unturned to fulfil people's aspirations. In a series of posts on X, Modi also complimented the National Conference for its "commendable" performance in the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
' Congress is Corrupt, AAP is More Corrupt': Sainin Slams Opposition
Furthermore speaking to the media, Saini slammed AAP and Congress over 'corruption.
He said, “AAP is a party that is stuck in the mud of corruption. They are ahead of Congress . AAP and Congress have an understanding - they fought on the issue of seat distribution, otherwise they were together in Lok Sabha elections. The people have understood that Congress is corrupt and AAP is more corrupt. If we say that Congress is more corrupt than AAP is corrupt - both are alike...”
Haryana went to polls on October 5 and the counting of votes is underway.
Previously, Saini was the MP from Kurukshetra, the parliamentary constituency in which Ladwa falls.
