After assuming charge, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar held a first review meeting with officers today. The Minister also asked officers to plan a massive cleanliness and waste-to-wealth campaign. Prevention of urban flooding will also be a focused area. He will soon review implementation of state-level ministry's schemes, said HUA spokesperson Rajeev Jain.

 Kalpana Soren, wife of jailed former chief minister Hemant Soren, was sworn in as a member of Jharkhand Assembly from Gandey constituency on Monday.

Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto administered the oath, with Chief Minister Champai Soren and other JMM leaders in attendance.

Expressing gratitude to the people of Gandey, Kalpana remarked, "Only three to four months are left for the Assembly elections in the state, but I will work for the people of Jharkhand. Hemant Ji may not be present here physically, but the way people extended love to him was reflected in Lok Sabha and Assembly bypoll results. Now, we have the upcoming Assembly elections and the alliance partners will focus on it." During the last three Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand, the BJP had been dominant, but it faced a significant setback in the recent polls, particularly in the state's five tribal constituencies - Khunti, Singhbhum, Lohardaga, Rajmahal, and Dumka.

Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo says, "We will speak more after meeting the Governor. We have expressed gratitude to the public that 4.5 crore people of Odisha have brought BJP to power here. They trusted the words of PM Modi and gave us power. PM Modi has spoken about making Odisha the number 1 state and we will set that in motion..."

The BJP legislature party of Odisha will hold its first meeting on Tuesday to elect the chief minister and the new government will take oath the next day, a senior party leader said. Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi confirmed that the BJP's legislature party meeting will take place at 4:30 pm at the party's state headquarters. Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Bhupender Yadav will attend as observers.

The new BJP government will take oath at 5 pm on June 12 (Wednesday).

On June 4, the BJP secured a majority by winning 78 seats in the 147-member Odisha Assembly. However, the party has yet to designate a leader for the CM's post.
