Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha Election Result 2024 LIVE: Today is the D-Day when we'll know if BJP retains power in Chhattisgarh and betters its position since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The state voted in three phases:  April 19, April 26 and May 7. The state witnessed a heated battle between the BJP's prominent candidates Brijmohan Agrawal, Saroj Pandey, ex-CM Bhupesh Baghel, and Kawasi Lakhma from Congress. The state recorded a voter turnout of 72.8 per cent in the Lok Sabha constituencies. In the general elections, Raipur witnessed the highest number of candidates in the race, with 38 contenders, followed by Bilaspur with 37, 27 in Korba, 25 in Durg, then Janjgir-Champa with 18, 17 in Mahasamund, 15 in Rajnandgaon, 13 in Raigarh, 11 in Bastar, 10 in Surguja, and lastly 9 in Kanker.

Raipur: One of the 11 Lok Sabha constituencies in Chhattisgarh, Raipur is among the most crucial seats. In 2024, the seat recorded a voter turnout of 66.82 per cent. This year, Brijmohan Agrawal of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Vikas Upadhyay of Congress (INC), and Mamta Rani Sahu of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are in the fray.

Bilaspur: The second-largest city in Chhatisgarh, Bilaspur has been a stronghold of the BJP since 1989. This Chhattisgarh seat recorded a voter turnout of 64.77 per cent on May 07.

Durg: Durg is classified as a General seat, encompassing the entirety of the Bemetara and Durg districts. The voting in Durg in the Lok Sabha election 2024 occurred on May 7 in the third phase. Vijay Baghel of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rajendra Sahu of Indian National Congress (INC), and Dilip Ramteke of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are among the key candidates contesting for Durg.

Bastar: Polling held on April 19, the Bastar constituency recorded a voter turnout of 67.53 per cent. It has always been a political powerhouse of Indian politics. This year, candidates listed in Bastar Lok Sabha Constituency are Mahesh Kashyap from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Kawasi Lakhma from Congress are the prominent candidates.

Korba: The Korba constituency is witnessing a battle between Saroj Pandey of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jyotsna Charandas Mahant of the Indian National Congress (INC), and Dujram Bouddh of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
