 BJP's Bansuri Swaraj wins New Delhi seat, defeats AAP's Somnath Bharti by margin of over 78,000 votes, said data from Election Commission.

BJP's Praveen Khandelwal wins

BJP candidate from Delhi's Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha seat Praveen Khandelwal defeated Congress veteran J P Agarwal by a margin of 89,325 votes. Khandelwal, a first-timer, was trailing Agarwal in the initial rounds. He secured a lead later and went on to win the seat.

He was fielded by the BJP in place of outgoing MP Harsh Vardhan. The BJP won all seven seats in Delhi in the 2014 and the 2019 general elections, and is set to repeat the feat this time too.

BJP's Ramvir Singh Bidhuri wins from South Delhi

BJP's Ramvir Singh Bidhuri won the South Delhi seat, defeating AAP's Sahi Ram Pahalwan by a margin of 1,24,333 votes. Bidhuri is the leader of opposition in the Delhi Assembly.

He was fielded by the BJP in place of outgoing MP Ramesh Bidhuri.

The BJP is leading in all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi on Tuesday, according to trends on the Election Commission (EC) website. BJP's Praveen Khandelwal was initially trailing the Congress' Jai Prakash Agarwal in the Chandni Chowk seat but has now moved ahead to secure a lead of 27,041 votes, EC data showed.

Counting begins for 7 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi

Counting of votes polled in Delhi's seven Lok Sabha constituencies began on Tuesday, June 4, amid a three-tier security cordon at counting centres. A total of 7,000 personnel is deployed at the seven counting centres.

The counting centres are located at SKV, Bharat Nagar, for the Chandni Chowk constituency; ITI, Nand Nagri, for North East Delhi; Sports Complex, CWG Village, for East Delhi; Atal Adarsh Balika Vidyalaya, Gole Market, for New Delhi; DTU, Shahbad Daulatpur, for North West Delhi; NSUT, Dwarka, for West Delhi; and Jijabai ITI for Women, Siri Fort, for South Delhi.

Election just a formality: Congress ahead of counting

Dlehi Congress wokers protested in the national capital alleging that the election process is just a formality and the result has already been decided. Delhi Congress worker Jagdish Sharma said, "I have already said 6 days ago that the election has been looted, it (counting of vote) is just a formality because the people of the country believe in the Constitution system. All Congress party leaders will come but I will not wait for the Constitutional result... We have been losing for 10 years and still, we are fighting, fighting every day... My leaders are standing with the people, they are true to their work."

What Exit Polls have predicted for Delhi

The Republic-PMarq Exit Poll has predicted a clean sweep by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, projecting them to secure victory in all seven seats. The Republic-Matrize Exit Poll, on the other hand, gave 5 seats to the BJP and 2 to the AAP-Congress alliance.
