New Delhi: After the resounding victory to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, just two days ahead of the results for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, in exclusive conversation with Republic TV’s Senior Editor Shawan Sen, said that just 2 days prior to the results for the general elections, the victory in Arunachal Pradesh came as a curtain raiser, which shows what’s there in the store. Expressing his pleasure over the sweeping victory in the state paving way for the BJP to install its government for the third consecutive term, Rijiju thanked people of Arunachal Pradesh for giving such a magnificent majority to the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He called the present time as the era of development for the entire northeastern region.

Victory in Arunachal Pradesh is Curtain Raiser Before Results For Lok Sabha Elections: Kiren Rijiju

Talking to Republic Media Network, the Union Minister stated, “I am personally very happy with the result which we have seen in Arunachal Pradesh. It was a landslide victory. The INDI Alliance got only one seat and that is also because of a mistake that we made during the distribution of tickets and because of that error the INDI Alliance got one seat.”

“Otherwise the BJP got 46 seats and the rest of the seats were won by our allies partners. Having said that, let me thank the people of Arunachal Pradesh for giving a resounding victory to the BJP and installing the BJP government in the state for the third time,” the BJP leader said.

Talking how victory in Arunachal Pradesh worked as lucky charm for the BJP, he said, “Arunachal Pradesh has been very lucky for the BJP, because, it is the first state where the BJP installed its government in 2016 and thereafter Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya, we form government with some alliance partners. So, two days before the counting of the general elections, the victory in Arunachal Pradesh is a curtain raiser because it shows what is there in the store.”

Attacking the previous Congress government in the state, Kiren Rijiju asserted, “Victory in Arunachal Pradesh is not ordinary because it is a very sensitive state and to develop Arunachal Pradesh in remote and mountain areas was very challenging. But, what the BJP did in 10 years, the congress could not do it in 60 years. Therefore it is the victory of development, it is a win for Modi ji’s leadership and the support of BJP cadres.”

“Victory in Arunachal Pradesh is testament to Modi ji’s commitment to develop Northeastern states and border areas and I can say this because I was part of Modi ji’s team from day one in 2014. I have been very personally and deeply involved in the transformation of Arunachal Pradesh. It is PM Modi’s vision to ensure that Arunachal Pradesh and the Northeastern states could become the most happening and economic hub of the country,” the BJP Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal West constituency emphasized.

When asked about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition’s stance of denying the exit poll predictions, Rijiju called the INDI Alliance leaders as dynastic leaders. He said, “It is not only Rahul Gandhi, but all like-minded people like Akhilesh Yadav, Lalu Prasad and all the leaders of the INDI Alliance are basically dynastic leaders. They don’t believe in democratic principles and democratic institutions.”

“Even if they are losing the elections, they could have done it gracefully. But, by attacking the Election Commission, by questioning the election process and by ridiculing the TV channels and their survey agencies, they are belittling their own position. The Election commission of India commands huge respect across the world.,” the BJP senior leader said.
