New Delhi: After INDI alliance pulled up a surprise performance by crossing 232 seats, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that they will take a decision on reaching out to NDA allies like JDU and TDP on Wednesday. When asked if Rahul will seek the help of these regional parties if they fall short of the majority, the senior Congress leader said, “We will have a meeting with our INDI partners. These questions will be shared and answered there. We respect our partners. We will not answer without consulting them…All these will be decided tomorrow. There is a fine line and we will do whatever our ally partners decide."
Thanking political acumen of people from Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi said that they have voted to save the save the Indian constitution. Defying all exit poll results, INDI is leading in 44 seats while BJP is trailing in 33 seats from UP. BJP's hope of securing a majority hit a major roadblock when UP witnessed the resurgence of Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi party.
Talking about the role of media, Rahul said, “A lot of people in press media fulfilled their roles. Some people did it openly and some did it secretively. I am aware. The fight was for constitution. If truth be told, when they (BJP) froze our bank accounts and put CMs behind bars, it was always there in my mind that Indians will stand up and fight to save the Constitution.”
Promising to bring about caste-survey, Rahul Gandhi said, “You have taken an important step to save the constitution. Wherever INDI allies fought together, we were united. Our promises gave India a clarity in vision. Modi is being correlated with Adani by the public. There is a direct relationship with corruption…Extremely proud of people who have resisted this onslaught on constitution. Dalits and poor have saved the Constitution.”
