Jharkhand Election Result 2024: As the counting of votes still underway, the latest ECI trends show that the BJP leading on 8 seats of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies in Jharkhand, while the JMM leading on 3 seats.

Jharkhand: NDA Leads in 10 Seats, INDI Bloc in 4

The BJP was leading in nine Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, its ally AJSU Party in one, while the Congress and JMM were ahead in two each, according to available trends. Union Minister and sitting MP Arjun Munda was trailing to Congress's Kalicharan Munda in Khunti Lok Sabha seat by around 77,227 votes, according to the Election Commission. In Singhbhum, JMM's Joba Manjhi was leading by 83,589 votes over her nearest rival Geeta Kora of the BJP after the seventh round of counting, officials said. Kora, wife of former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, joined the BJP just ahead of Lok Sabha polls. She was the lone Congress MP in the state. Former DGP and sitting BJP MP VD Ram was leading by 1,40,000 votes over his nearest rival Mamta Bhuiyan of RJD in Palamu, leading to victory.

'Counting is Done Transparently': CEC Rajiv Kumar

On Tuesday, soon after voting began for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Chief Election Commission Rajiv Kumar said, "The counting process is underway at all the places. We have given strict instructions to all the DMs, SPs and COs (central observers) that the process of counting is done transparently and as per rulebook."

Stage Set for Counting of Votes for 14 LS Seats in Jharkhand

The stage is set for counting of votes on Tuesday for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. The counting will start from 8 am amid tight security. The trends are expected around 9 am, the official said. The day will decide the fate of 244 candidates— 212 men, 31 women and 1 transgender— in the fray in the 14 Lok Sabha seats. Altogether eight sitting MPs and 12 MLAs, are contesting the parliamentary polls.

Over 100 Cases of MCC Violation Registered in Jharkhand

An FIR for urging guests to vote in favour of the BJP in the invitation cards for a house-warming ceremony was among over 100 cases of Model Code of Conduct violation registered in Jharkhand, a senior official said. Lok Sabha polls for 14 seats were conducted in four phases in Jharkhand between May 13 and June 1. “As many as 101 cases of MCC violation were registered from across Jharkhand from March 16-June 2. Out of these, FIR has been lodged in 98 cases,” the senior election official told PTI.
