Bihar Exit Poll Result LIVE: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA that swept through Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will achieve a similar feat in the 2024 elections with 37 seats out of 40 in the state in its account, according to the Republic-PMarq exit poll results. The poll result prediction hinted that Congress will improve its number by winning three seats as it secured just one in the last elections.

Voting for the 40 Lok Sabha seats of Bihar that commenced in the first phase on April 19 concluded in the final and seventh phase on June 1. Republic TV's super double exit poll results of the Bihar Lok Sabha election in collaboration with PMARQ and Matrize pollsters have drawn a clear picture of what can be expected on June 4, the day when the Election Commission will officially announce people's mandate.

Bihar serves as one of the key battlegrounds for the ruling NDA and the opposition's INDI bloc. While the NDA is looking to retain their 2019 performance, the INDI bloc has campaigned intensively in the state to fetch more seats in their account.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, NDA relied on the 'Modi factor' and the track record of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, while the opposition's campaign mostly rested on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's shoulders.

  1. According to Republic-PMARQ exit polls prediction, the NDA comprising of BJP-JDU-LJP will win 37 seats in Bihar, while the Congress-led opposition will improve its tally to three from one seat it secured in the 2019 elections.
  2. When it comes to national outcome, the Republic-PMARQ exit polls prediction showed that NDA might get 359 seats, while the opposition's INDI bloc will settle at 154 seats. The other regional parties which are not part of either NDA or INDI will get 30 seats, according to the prediction.

What Happened In 2019 Elections?

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA alliance comprising of BJP-JD(U)-LJP had clinched 39 out of 40 seats in the state. For the RJD-led opposition bloc, the only seat went into the account of Congress in the name of Kishanganj.

Congress managed to secure one seat, while the RJD failed to secure any. The landmark victory of the BJP boosted NDA prospects, which is eyeing for a clean sweep again in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

The Kishanganj constituency, which was the only seat won by the Opposition alliance in 2019,  is likely to see a three-way contest between Congress’s Mohammed Javed, who is the sitting MP, D(U)’s Master Mujahid, and the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM’s Akhatarul Iman. With a Muslim population of 72 per cent in the constituency, the Hindu voters are likely to polarise in favour of Mujahid, who will be relying on the anti-incumbency factor against Javed.
