Lok Sabha Election Exit Polls 2024: Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 will come to an end with polling on 57 seats spread across eight states and a Union Territory on June 1. Though counting of votes for all 543 seats is set to take place on June 4, Tuesday, Republic TV will come up with double exit poll results of general elections that will give a clear picture of what the people of states and UTs have decided for the next 5 years. Exit Poll Result 2024: Date & Time

Before the release of exit polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has prohibited news channels from publishing "polls of polls" until 6 pm on June 1, the seventh and concluding day of voting. Exit polls are akin to post-election surveys, resembling opinion polls. These analyses are conducted by questioning voters about their voting preferences immediately after exiting the polling stations. Another type of survey involves asking voters about their intended voting choices.

How Accurate Are Exit Polls?

Exit polls are statistical predictions based on surveys conducted with voters immediately after they have cast their ballots. While they aim to provide insights into voter behaviour and predict election outcomes, their accuracy can vary.

Factors influencing the accuracy of exit polls include the sampling method, the size of the sample, the timing of the survey, and the methodology used to analyze the data. Additionally, unforeseen events, changes in voter behaviour, or errors in data collection can affect the reliability of exit poll results.

While exit polls can offer valuable insights and trends, they are not always perfectly accurate predictors of election outcomes. Variations between exit poll predictions and actual election results can occur, leading to discrepancies.

Lok Sabha election 2024

Split into seven phases, the first phase of the Lok Sabha election was held on April 19, while two to six were held on April 26, May 7, 13, 20, and 25, respectively.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seeking a third consecutive term at the Centre, and a third straight single-party majority. In a strategic move, the BJP gave a ‘400 Paar (Beyond 400 Seats)' slogan to push their election campaign to the masses.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who could achieve a hattrick of terms in the country's top office, is contesting from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. Notably, he contested the first and second Lok Sabha polls--in 2014 and 2019, from the same seat and defeated Ajay Rai, the Congress candidate.
